A mix of low-rise buildings on downtone Yonge could be the location of a new condo tower that would provide 500 residential and commercial suites to the area.

Around mid-October, Kingsett Capital proposed an official plan to build a 59-storey building located at 510-520 Yonge Street. The 59-storey condo would include a three-storey podium base that would house 5,591 square feet of ground-floor retail area and around 5,000 square feet of community hub space on the second floor. Although specific details are not yet announced, the proposal already stands out for its red tones, metal railings, and a floor-plate rotated to the street-grid.

There’s a proposed indoor amenity area for the 4th floor, that would lead on the rood podium with outdoor amenities. Residential suites would occupy the fifth floor and above.

Most of the residential units included in the proposal would be assigned for condo use. According to the plan’s project datasheet, there are 19 residences slated as rental replacement units. The breakdown consists of 280 one-bedroom, 170 two-bedroom and 50 three-bedroom suites.
